We arrived at the hotel around 4:00 pm on July 30th i.e., my wife, son, and myself. W went to the room and it was not what we expected. The online registration stated a double room with double beds. I questioned this and the manager at the hotel stated that it meant 1 room with 2 double beds. I asked for my payment back and was told that I will be charged anyway as it was a 24 hour call before to cancel. We went to dinner and when we came back I asked for another room because the room's carpet was filthy and had spill marks all over the carpet, in addition, there was an awful chemical smell. There were no dresser drawers nor did the refrigerator work. The lady at the front desk said that there were no other rooms available. I immediately cancelled the next day's reservation. We spent the night in a room that I am not accustomed to staying because the people at the motel were not courteous and acted very unprofessional and the accommodations were awful. I will never stay at this motel nor any other Howard Johnson's again. I would have gone to another motel, but it was late, we were tired, and had been traveling for 7.5 hours. I would like for my room reimbursement of 55.00 + fees back.
So convenient to the main tourist attractions (The Garden of the Gods etc) and the staff were lovely. Really clean room.
Could hear traffic quite loudly from our room- wasn't too bad but noticeable.
Nothing fancy, but decent price if you are just looking for a place to sleep.
Location perfect for my business needs; great view; spacious for one person.
Breakfast area too small
Waffle machine for breakfast.
We asked for queen beds and got queen headboards with double beds. Bed in one room was sagging with some broken boards on the bottom of the box springs. One of the drains was very slow to drain. The fridges were off when we arrived and took awhile to get up to temperature. When I checked out and told the lady at the desk, she didn't take notes but said she would have maintenance look at it. I bet nothing happens to fix it for the next guests.
The room was very clean and bigger than anticipated. Bed was very comfortable. Perfect for a young couple traveling on a budget.
The pool wasn't as big as it looked on the pictures online. Was a little disappointed it was so small.
Good value excellent breakfast. Good stop over hotel if traveling through.
Only had smoking room, stunk....
price, closeness to hockey rink
I called for a wakeup call shortly after I checked in Saturday May 28th at 11:15pm......I talked to the front desk and I asked for a 5:30am wakeup call and never got it, also my clock radio in the room had a broken minutes button so I could not set the alarm appropriately. So because of your staff and poor performance we were late getting to the rink for the 1st game. I did voice my concern the next day when I checked out and was told I would be called by the manager, I left my phone number. As of today June 1st I have not been called.
It was conveniently located for everything we did.
The beds were hard as a rock and the pillows were flat as a pancake, really need to invest in better mattresses and pillows also the mattreSs had blood stains all over it!
The room was comfortable. There was a refrigerator that allowed us to store our food and drink. They were very accommodating.
Although it was wonderful to have a computer available, it was very slow and frustrating to use. The light over the sink needed changing as it would pulse. The radio was difficult to get a station on.
The beds were comfortable
LoInadequate parking spaces, the smell in the bathroom
the price and the location, easy access to interstate
Along the I-25. a few restaurant nearby.
Their address in on Highway 83, or Google Map makes us go out on Exit 156, instead of 150, so it is quite hard to find the hotel, They should adjust that with the street they are on.
Very unfriendly staff. Seems they go out of their way to be discourteous. People allowed to drink alcohol in the lobby, although the hotel has no liquor license; witnessed these persons starting fights and caused damage to the property. Had to call 911 to help the clerk who was being assaulted. Great location for a U-Tube video, and that's about all. If you want a decent place to stay, go somewhere else. Not worth the discounted price. They were also not disability friendly.
Location - easy to reach from the highway and easy access to Manitou Springs, Pike's Peak and local surroundings including Garden of the Gods.
